DIY: Paint Chip Calendar

Posted on March 02 2016

Hi friends!

Today’s #DIYWednesday project will help get you ready for next month, take you less than half an hour to make, and costs less than $5!

Here is what you are going to need:

a frame (I bought mine at the dollar store!), scissors, ruler and pencil, tape, a dry erase marker (also from the dollar store) and paint chips (free!).

To start off, choose 7 paint chips that you think go well together, one for each day of the week.

You need to fit all 7 paint chips beside one another in your frame, so the measurement for this next step may vary based on the frame you are using. Decide how wide your paint chips can be; for me, 4.5 cm worked best. Turn them over and mark on the back where you need to cut them.

Cut your paint chips so they are all the same width (mine were all 4.5 cm), and you should have something that looks like this.

The next step is to open your frame, and turn the picture that came in the frame over, so that you now have a white piece of paper that fits perfectly into the frame. Make loops of tape and use these to secure your paint chips onto your paper, like this.

Assemble your frame back together.

Finally, use your dry erase marker to draw on the glass. You’ll need to write your month, days of the week, and numbers to complete your calendar.

That’s it! This is seriously the easiest craft I have done in a while, and so quick to make!

I hope you liked this simple DIY, and if you make one yourself, tag #JustJess on Instagram!
